It took over a year for me to find the place to get the Delta home with me... Well, with my Mini sold earlier this week, now is the time! I brought it back home today (well, almost home, it’s at work for now as I need to do the timing belt and water pump before starting it again).
If you want ot see it run for the first time in 10 years, that was filmed last year :)
It didn’t move since that video, but it will be back on the road in a few weeks!

It’s Delta time!! :D

I was wondering about that thing but it felt rude to ask. Happy to see it again.

Congratulations! Is it going to be a keeper? It’d better be. Otherwise your are f

going to regret having sold the Mini.
Out of curiosity... everything else being equal what’s the usual difference in price between an 8V and a 16V? 10%, 15%?
I’d love to be able to buy a 4WD, one day. I was offered one for 6,000 euro fifteen years ago but, silly me, I did not bite.

Congratulations! It's a beautiful car, I hope you get to enjoy it!

That’s so cool. I can’t wait to see it all cleaned up and working like new.

It’s an 8v which I paid.... around 2000€ :D... From a friend who doesn’t need the money and just want to see someone take care of it (it hasn’t been driven for close to 10 years). And yes, it’s a keeper. I don’t think I will ever sell it.
![]() 03/30/2019 at 08:48 |

Man, that took A LONG time haha... good thing the seller was a friend ;)
![]() 03/30/2019 at 08:49 |

It pretty much work like new already actually... But timing belt is stupid old! So I don’t even dare starting it anymore.

Oh I will!! ;)
![]() 03/30/2019 at 08:51 |

Oh and price difference between 8v and 16v is usually around 20-30%... I’m not sure I’d want a 16v honestly... The very small RWD bias the 16v has, is only here to compensate the extra weight of the engine. They both drive very close to the same. But when it comes to reliability, the 8v generates A LOT less headaches...

I understand! Blow up the motor before you even get to drive it... no thanks!

If it happens I’ll just move to another country with good roads that doesn’t outlaw them haha

So happy to see you with the keys. I’d love these even if they weren’t performance cars. A wonderful
piece of art you can drive the $
@!# out of (once the timing belt is done of course). Enjoy it and congrats.

Oh I only wanted an Integrale... I’m not too interested in 4WD HF. The Integrale is something else... I need those wheel arches haha
![]() 03/30/2019 at 09:38 |

Not performance cars?? In 1988, they did 0 to 60mph in around 6s with stock power! That’s quite a performance for the time! haha
But yes it will be driven like it should :P
![]() 03/30/2019 at 10:26 |
|
Oh yes, they were definitely potent for their time. :D
But I would love them even if they had 60HP and 14s 0-60 times! They are great looking cars.
![]() 03/30/2019 at 10:31 |

Well, 4wd this slow would be a bit too slow for me haha :D

Thanks for reminding me that, on this four-day weekend, I want to fire up my old desktop and play some TDU2. There may be faster cars in the game, but I just prefer to stick with the Lancia seeing as how that’s probably the closest I’ll ever get to actually driving one...

Such high fidelity
![]() 03/30/2019 at 11:54 |

Well, that one is an Evo... I can’t afford that haha. But if you come to Japan, I can definitely let you drive my 8v! I tend to let an yone drive my stuff haha
![]() 03/30/2019 at 12:27 |

I'm all about those period OZ wheels.

You’d better be careful - I might just take you up on that offer. It’s been a dream of mine to visit Japan, and one of these days I’ll actually get there. No vacation time at the moment due to surgery last month, so it’s going to be at least a year or two.
Now excuse me whilst I head to the kitchen and prepare a bowl of miso soup from scratch...

Oooo, yaaaaay! :D
More videos are required on this subject often! You know...for research and stuff :P

They need to be a little refreshed though haha

I missed this originally, but holy crap thats hot.
![]() 05/15/2019 at 11:10 |

How cool is that huh? :D
I’m still too damn happy about it lol... I have the timing belt kit for it but well... no time to install it haha... Soon, soon :)

Anything rally-esque with thicc white wheels makes me happy.
